(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

2 July

So yesterday I went and saw my man Tommy Lee in Men in Black!
It opens today, I know, but they were having a special sneak opening a day earlier (getting that opening weekend up to six days, I see!) Anyway, it was just swell. Very very funny, and even though this is the kind of role that Tommy Lee can play in his sleep better than anyone else alive, he has a couple of beautiful pure acting moments, particularly after Will Smith tells him that it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.

My main problem was that the people behind me were the two stupidest people in New York, if not the known galaxy, and every time anything happened, one would ask the other what just happened, and then the other would explain it. But it's not as though there was one smart one and one idiot, because they would sort of take turns being thick.

Maybe they were sharing a brain, passing it back and forth.

I forgot to say yesterday what a pain it was at work on Monday.

The receptionist, Kelly, wasn't there, but I knew that she wouldn't be so I dragged my ass in there at 8.30a (blech) to answer phones for the day. Then I checked my voice mail and there was a message from Diane saying that she wouldn't be in either and for me to do the check run.

So I was the receptionist and the entire AP department for the day. Whatever I did to deserve that punishment, I hope I never do it again.

I paid my June bills yesterday, and it was only the first of July!
They may send the checks back in shock, certain of forgery.

You know what?
The nail polish that I put on my nails on Sunday is still completely unchipped! No, really! It's been three days and I've washed the dishes and washed my hair and done all the things that usually make it peel away like old wallpaper, but it's still completely solid. Not bad for $1.39.

I know, I know, it's not that earth-shattering, but you gotta take pleasure in small things.
