Randy Newman got an Academy Award nomination yesterday for Best Score for James and the Giant Peach. Yay!! My family is an Academy family, and we vote by committee, so he is guaranteed one vote from us at least.
And I'll get a voodoo doll of Alan "I have 23 Oscars" Menken and see if that'll help.
There's this neat thing called The Diary Collaboration that I have joined where all of the diarists participating write on a selected theme on the same day. The next one is on 26 February, which is after I get back from California, and the theme is not yet chosen, but I hope it's something I can participate in. The last question was "In what ways do you feel that you and your partner have a stronger relationship than other couples you know have?", and my answer would have to have been:
"Because he does not exist."
When John and I went to lunch yesterday, we passed the guy passing out flyers again, and he said "You've got the best wife in the world!" I think John decided that enough was quite enough, so when we passed him on the way back, he said "We're just good friends!"
To which the guy said "You never know, you could become even better friends!"
The best of yesterday was, without question, the fact that I got eight hours of sleep. After only getting 5 hours of sleep a night for about ten days, it was the most wonderful feeling in the world to wake up and actually feel rested!
And the worst was that when I went out to get a Pepsi, I accidentally got a Diet Pepsi.
What can I say? It was a good day!
Or a relatively inoffensive one, anyway...
Speaking of Pepsi, I find it so hilarious that Darth Vader is on all of the Pepsi bottles, and storm troopers are on all of the Diet Pepsi bottles. I have come to the conclusion that they are trying to tell us that all Pepsi is evil, but regular Pepsi is the most evil of all...
