(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

14 December

Well, I've been in this apartment for two weeks now.
What do I think?

An interesting phenomena has occurred, that I do remember from the last time I moved. Apartments actually look smaller when they're empty, so once I moved my furniture in here I saw that it wasn't too small after all. Of course, almost none of my stuff stuff is in here, so maybe when that happens it'll get a little more crowded, but I think I can manage.

I got used to the low ceiling in about two days (I cannot actually raise my arms above my head is how low it is). I haven't gotten used to the bathtub that is shorter than three feet long yet, but I'm sure to in time. I'm telling you, this apartment was built for a person under five feet tall, that's the only explanation for some of these proportions.

One thing I don't like is that when I turn the corner on my street to go pick up the van I still have a whole block to go where I can see the bus stop clear as clear, but it's too far to run for it if the van's there when I turn the corner. Which it invariably is.

The vans, however, do have the most personality of any public transportation I've ever seen. Last night as I was coming home we stopped at the gas station right after the exit, which is a real stop, but we didn't stop for someone to get off, but for someone to run to the bathroom and get back on!

You ain't seeing that on the subway anytime soon!

Yesterday when I was walking from the van to the subway I passed The Lion King just as the matinee got out, so the street was ridiculously crowded with slow-moving (or stopped), gawking, goofy tourists blocking the sidewalk.

So I said (audibly, but not shouted) "Will someone get all of these fucking people out of my way!!"

Giving them some of that real New York experience...

Last chance for this cats and kittens:

Alright, who wants a Xmas card? And if you think I already have your address, kindly remember how disorganized I am and re-send, okay?
