(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

11 December

So I finally went to the doctor yesterday, as I'm certain you're all relieved to hear.

He was really nice, was Dr. Adler (can we all tell that I decided to start at the beginning of the insurance book and work my way though?), and he let me tell him all about my illness without interrupting or acting bored, and I demonstrated The Great Cough, and he listened to the remarkable cacophony of whistling that my lungs are presenting to the listening public, and he came to the conclusion that I am sick!

See, I'm no slacker! And he gave me an anti-biotic, a steroid based medicine for the phlegm and some cough syrup with codeine to help me sleep.

He was very sweet and friendly until the very end where he fixed me with a gimlet eye and demanded that I get a mammogram (never had one), go to the GYN (haven't been in years), and quit smoking, as he said "You can putz around with cigarettes in your teens and twenties, but one you hit your thirties you've got to do something about it! Have you done anything about quitting?"

I said "Well, I thought I'd get really really sick..."

After I left work I went to the grocery store to get garbage bags and toilet paper and Chicken and Stars soup and ended up buying the most extraordinary collection of stuff! Pork chops and shrimp and maple flavoured sausages and cranberry sauce and Glade CandleScents scented candles!

Maybe that doesn't sound all that odd to you, but I tend to buy the same ten things over and over, so getting all of this stuff that I never think to get was really odd.

Must be the steroids.

Decided to follow Melody's example and take that online IQ test. It was hugely biased against dyslexics, but I was super careful on those questions and I got 150 (four points less than Princess Smartypants, but hey! I've been sick!) which means that I am a big ol' genius, in case any reader was in doubt on that point!

And I'm six points smarter than the last time I took one of those tests, so things are looking up.

So I thought that finally I would link The Unkept Secret since Seraph is getting a little finger-drummy about the fact that I screamed and screamed and screamed until she linked me but I had yet to return the favour. Well, I've been sick! (I'm gonna use that one for as long as I can get away with it, let me tell you)

Anyway, it's an absolutely swell journal, even with frames, and you should go see it!
