(The Mighty Kymm--you'll not see nothing like!)

12 August

So yesterday Diane was back and John was back (yay!) but Kelly needed to rest up from her brother's wedding, so she was out again. Doing two jobs wasn't so bad--better than four!

And John brought me this great prezzie. In Spain he waited in line for an hour to see and touch a statue called The Black Virgin of Montserrat, which is a 700 year old statue of the blessed virgin with the Christ child in her lap, and he got me this great little silver version of it. I have it on my computer right now. There's something about it that makes me smile.

Something extraordinary happened yesterday.

You see, we cut checks on Mondays, and then they have to be matched to the invoices, checked, signed, the bottoms ripped off and stapled to the invoices, and then stamped paid, the date and check number written on them, and then filed, and then the checks are folded, enveloped, stamped, and mailed. Usually, they get into the mail on Friday.

I did all of that yesterday.

Clearly, the planets are aligning.

I got to say something yesterday that I have always wanted to say.

Adam was at the fax machine, and he asked "Do I have to dial 9 for a local call?" and I said "Only if there's actually a 9 in the number."

I have waited years to say that! And I can't believe that I remembered to!

There is a Hallmark store practically next door to us, and I passed by it yesterday and noticed a giant Halloween display.

I realize that it's the next big holiday, but it is 2 1/2 months away for heaven's sake!
