19 April Coupla neat things happened yesterday. I got approached to perhaps write for an e-zine! It's all very up in the air, but I'm most chuffed. My only fear is that I have so gotten into the rhythm of writing on subjects in around four sentences that I am uncertain if I can write at greater length anymore... I was watching Nora Ephron (a role model) on the South Bank Show last weekend and she was talking about when she started her column in Esquire and how she didn't think that she could write a daily column, but a monthly only required her to have twelve opinions a year, which was really only ten, because you could fake two. Now, I have four opinions a day, but they're so short that it probably evens out to twelve long opinions a year.
The other really cool thing was that I got an e-mail from Diane Patterson, author of one of the top journals on the web! Of course, she was writing about something in my style that kind of annoys her, but she was very sweet about it, and just the fact that she reads me at all (not to mention that she thinks I can write!) is just so utter, that I her quibbles don't bother me one little bit!
Everyone's workspace in my office is so neat, you can barely tell when Michelle or Judy are in or not, but my area is covered with papers and pop bottles and pictures on the wall, and I finally figured out why. I'm marking my territory!
I saw a commercial for a Winnie-the-Pooh toy which contained the line: Sounds like something in Penthouse Forum.
