3 April This girl I work with is absolutely driving me batty! She's always explaining to me in a gentle voice things that I not only know, but have been doing for months, and when I tell her that, she's really proud of me and says "good for you!" or something like that. The most annoying part is that she's seven years younger than me, and I can really do without being patronized by someone seven years younger than me.
A funny thing happened at class Saturday. I showed the pictures I made last week of Baldrick on top of the door to the teacher and the girl who runs the darkroom, and they compared them to the cat pictures on the wall that are by the owner. They took one and put it up with the other pictures as a joke, to see how long it would take him to see it and say "Wait a minute! That's not one of my cats!" But I was pleased, because those pictures are wonderful, and they thought that my picture fitted in with them.
A new member of Open Pages, you know, the webring for online journals, has this to say:
"For your information, this is NOT an on-line journal, and I do not wish it to be identified as such. This is an exercise in writing, and reflections on specific themes, not a run-down of my life on any specific day (you know..."I got up this morning, I took a dump...then I ate some bacon for breakfast..."). Any specific examples used are meant to illustrate a point, and are not meant to reveal great insight as to the way my life is (I am sorry to disappoint you all). Since I have seen on-line journals, and I have seen what people end up writing about (see the above example), I wish to disassociate myself from the concept entirely." Completely begging the question of why would you want to join a journal ring if you have such contempt for journals, the only thing I have to say is if it walks like a duck and it quacks like a duck...
And after all that, I've gotta admit, the duck's pretty good!
