Hope everyone voted yesterday!
It was hideously crowded at the polls last night. But mostly just for District 36. My district, natch. Every other booth had these short lines or no lines, while District 36 had a queue that made FOUR curves and it took me 49 minutes to get through! I can't figure out if that means that District 36 is the civic minded district, or that's it's the employed district.
My favourite thing overheard during the wait to vote was "What, are they handing out tablets and chisels?"
My name Kymm Zuckert, but my legal name is Kimberly Zuckert, and that's the name I'm registered to vote under. Well, when I got to the polls I saw that below my official registration, there was a registration for Kymm Zuckert with my same address, but a signature that doesn't even REMOTELY resemble mine! So, I said, "Um, that's me, too, but that's not my signature!" Well the volunteer ladies were LIVID, and scratched out the name and wrote in large letters "Not voter's signature! Same as above! VOID!!!!" I hope that person showed up and was taken away in chains.
