13 December

Alright, my darlings, I am outta here!
No, no, calm yourselves, I'm just going home for Xmas, so there will be no updates for a couple of weeks. So, while I'm gone, read the Archives, lotsa good stuff in there, and if you want to let you know when I'm back and journaling again, just e-mail me!

And have a great holiday!

I don't understand peeking at Christmas presents, I really don't. Why would anyone want to do that? If you do, then on Christmas you have no surprises; where's the fun in that? I'm the same way with my birthday presents, too. Once, Mom sent me a birthday parcel in the post about two months before my birthday, and I put it on a shelf and flat out REFUSED to open it until my birthday. My roommate thought I was bonkers.
I don't know, I guess I like the anticipation as much as I like the actual present.

One of the Christmas traditions 'round my house is Mom losing a present. She buys them all year 'round, and sticks them in closets and things, so at Christmas time, she never remembers where she puts everything, and is up 'till 4a finding stuff and wrapping it. But she always manages to lose one present, and so follows the traditional Christmas "Aha!" and receiving of one last present at about 9p Xmas night.

Every year when I go home for Christmas, Mom says to me "Now, surely you're too old for a stocking THIS year!" and I say, huffily "I am NOT EITHER!!!" and I get my stocking. Though what she would do if I ever said no, I don't know, what with the fact that she buys stuff for my stocking all year long.
