8 August O. My. God. You have absolutely no idea how horrible my trip home was tonight after babysitting for Katie. I got to the Times Square Station, waited half an hour for the N or R train, got to Canal St, the train went out of service, got out, waited half an hour for another N or R train, a track worker wandered by and told us that the N and the R weren't running and we would have to take a 6 or a J, killed the track worker and decided rather than taking the 6 to the 4 to the R or the N (sometimes they're running in Brooklyn when they're not in Manhattan, and if they weren't, then I could take the D or the Q) I would take the J to the M, went to the J platform, waited for half an hour, got on the train, went three stops, the train went out of service, killed the conductor, asked a track worker how to get to DeKalb, he told me to cross over to the other track and take the J going in the other direction, waited for half an hour, got on the train, rode along for awhile, realized that the track worker was full of shit and I was in Queens, got off the train, waited for half an hour, got the J train back to Canal Street, realized that I had been at Canal Street two hours before and that any other configuration of trains required taking THREE more trains, exited the station, grabbed a cab, and was home nine minutes later. The whole extravaganza took three hours and every bit of energy I was planning to use for the next two weeks or so. I really cannot express how much I hate the New York City Transit Authority.
On the news tonight, they showed the Olympic athletes going home, and they said that the airport was crowded in Paris because the French team came home after proving themselves to be a world power. France won medals? You wouldn't have known from watching American TV..
There is a McDonald's on the corner of Sixth Ave. and West 4th St. in New York. There is also a McDonald's on Sixth Ave. and 14th St. Yesterday, I was walking down Sixth Ave., and noticed that there is a new McDonald's on Sixth Ave. and 8th St. Well, thank goodness! Apparently, people kept fainting from hunger during the ten block walk from one McDonald's to the next...
One thing I can't figure out about lesbian sex is, how do they know when it's over?
